one sport in which a person must be at least 30 years old before he learns all
he needs to know about the sport. {{U}}(36) {{/U}}Clark Summers of the
University of Detroit{{U}} (37) {{/U}}that this doesn't always have to
be{{U}} (38) {{/U}} Clark is a different kind of fencer in a lot of{{U}} (39) {{/U}}. He is American, while most fencers are from the{{U}} (40) {{/U}}of Europe. He is black while most fencers in the past have been {{U}}(41) {{/U}} And he is{{U}} (42) {{/U}}22 years old. Many people{{U}} (43) {{/U}}that Clark is the most promising fencer in this country today. Although he is young, he has been able to 44 the necessary skills. Already he has won a number of fencing contest (况赛) {{U}}(45) {{/U}} older fencers. He is almost {{U}}(46) {{/U}} to become a member of the US Olympic (奥林匹克) fencing team! "There is no{{U}} (47) {{/U}} danger in fencing, today," Clark says, "But I never {{U}}(48) {{/U}} that fencing was not always a sport. In the old days, people fenced to{{U}} (49) {{/U}}a quarrel. Each match was a matter of{{U}} (50) {{/U}}. If that{{U}} (51) {{/U}}true in the matches I{{U}} (52) {{/U}}in today, every touch against me would mean that I {{U}}(53) {{/U}} wounded or killed.
