ode
Ode, (Greek “song”), is a lyric poem in elevated, or high style, often addressed to a natural force, a person, or an abstract quality. The Pindaric ode in English is made up of stanzas of unequal length, while the Horatian ode has equal length. For example, Wordsworth’s “Ode: Intimations of Immortality.” and Marvell’s “An Horatian Ode”, or Keats’s “Ode on Melancholy”.
