Stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. In truth, it is not the bad thing that it is often supposed to be. A certain degree of stress is necessary to provide motivation and give purpose to the life. It is only when the stress becomes out of control that it could lead to poor performance and bad health.
The amount of stress a person can endure depends much on the individual. Some people are not afraid of stress, and this character is apparently prime material for managerial responsibilities. Other people may lose heart at the first signs of unusual difficulties. When we are exposed to stress, in whatever form, we react both chemically and physically. Actually, we make choice between "fight" or "flight". In more primitive days, the choice made the difference between life and death. The crises we meet today are not so extreme, however, little the stress, it involves the same response. It is when such a reaction lasts long through continued exposure to stress that health becomes a dangerous thing. Such serious situations as heart disease and high blood pressure have much to do with stress. Since we can't remove stress from our lives (it would be irrational to do so even if we could), we need to find ways to cope with it.
