【答案解析】[听力原文] 14-17
Every fall in the US, more than half of the young people who graduate from high school enter college for the first time. During recent times, a total of over 9 million students have been admitted into classes each year. Not all the students starting school this year will enter four-year colleges. Some will go to two-year schools. These might be community colleges, where students can get the first two-year basic college education, and then transfer to a four-year school. Other two-year colleges are business schools where students can prepare for a variety of occupations, such as secretary, computer operator or office manager. Some schools provide training for jobs in health services, advertising, agriculture, and technical areas. In every state, there are four-year universities and additional colleges supported by the government of that state. And the inhabitant of the state pays less in fees to enter his or her state school than the students who are not inhabitants of the state. It is common for a university to have 20,000 students with a teaching staff of several thousand. There are also many private schools. Some are religious schools owned and operated by church groups. There are colleges for women, military schools and universities without walls.
