China has developed a lot in the past 30 years, so the medical condition has become better and the infant mortality rate has reduced a lot. Most people can enjoy longevity. It is estimated that people aged 60 and above in China will account for 11. 8 percent of the whole population in 2020. What’ s more there will be more than 400 million people aged 65 and older and more than 100 million aged 80 and older by the middle of this century. Confronted with this severe problem, some people blame the government because of the adoption of birth control and the government should take all responsibilities. First of all, China adopted birth control in order to control widening population, which makes the number of young people plummets. Community services should also be perfected and the government should stimulate more volunteers to help take care of the elder citizens. The birth control should be released in some metropolises such as Shanghai and Beijing. The situation will get better if there are two or more children supporting four elders. The government should employ some doctors to disseminate medical knowledge among elder people. If they run into some emergency, they have the ability to solve some minor problems, thus reducing the burden of young people. More importantly, individuals should also contribute to support those elders. Students can take part in volunteering activities to help those elder people and the elders should take the initiative to learn some basic medical knowledge.

Aging problem is becoming increasingly severe in China, and we have to find solution to it. The government should play the role of leader and guide people to cope this problem. Some basic services should be improved and medical knowledge should be disseminated to help the elders to take care of themselves. It is a complicated problem and we shouldn’ t only rely on the government. We should cooperate with the government and pay our own efforts. It will be better if we can come up with some constructive suggestions.
