We should respect (acknowledge) the diversity of the world and promote dialogues among [all] civilizations (cultures). Diversity is the universal law of nature. Each nation, religion, and civilization has made its own contribution to the development of mankind (humanity). Since national traditions, religions, culture, economic levels and political systems vary from one country to another, it is impossible to leave them in the hands of a single country, much less cover them all with one development model and one criterion of values (let alone apply a single development model or value criterion to all). We believe that all civilizations and social systems can complement one another under the circumstances of competition and make progress together in a spirit of seeking common ground while shelving (disregarding) differences. It needs to be pointed out that terrorism, the scourge (curse) of the international (global) community, runs counter to (is against) the principles of our civilization. Actions against terrorism should not target (zero in on) any (a particular) ethnic group or religion. In the fight against terrorism, international efforts should be stepped up and comprehensive measures should be adopted, dealing with not only the symptoms (manifestations) but also the root causes.
