Subject: reducing Monthly Meetings
Although we generally accomplish a fair amount in our current monthly meetings, they take a great deal of time out of each manager's workday. By my calculations, the average meeting runs 2 to 3 hours from star to finish. This does not count the time each manager spends competing a progress report to present at the meeting.
I suggest that we reduce the number of monthly marketing and planning meetings from two to one. If everyone knows we have only one meeting in which to conduct business, he/she will make a greater effort to be on time and have reports finished. As a result, I believe we can accomplish just as much work in a single meeting held once a month as we currently do in two meetings. Instead of attending a second meeting, the managers can use their time to conduct company business.
