Google is determined to challenge apple and Amazon (Amazon also develops its own online music business). Google launched Music Beta service earlier this year. The service, limited to the US market, allows consumers to upload songs to a digital “safe” on a Google server and then listen to them on any net-connected PC or any mobile device using android operating system. The service, which allows people to store up to 2,0000 songs for free in the Google “cloud”, is part of the larger “Google music” service.
