Modifying copy density level for AUTO exposure mode
On leaving the factory, the photocopies is set to AUTO NORMAL ("A") and it is unlikely that most users will need to change this setting for most of their work. However, if you do need to change the copy density to suit your individual preference for all your work or for a lot of pages, carry out the following procedures.
1. Press and hold the EXPOSURE key for 10 seconds. The level at which the photocopier has been set will now be indicated by a blinking light at AUTO NORMAL.
2. Next select AUTO NORMAL ("L"), AUTO DARK ("D") or AUTO NORMAL ("A") by pressing down the EXPOSURE key.
Note that each time the EXPOSURE key is pressed , the setting changes in the following order: AUTO NORMAL ("A") , AUTO LIGHT ("L"), AUTO DARK ("D"), and then starts over again.
3. Wait approximately 5 seconds after selecting the new level. Then release the EXPOSURE key.
When both the selected indicator and the READY indicator light up , the copy density level adjustment is completed.
Modifying copy density level for MANUAL exposure mode
Use the manual mode if you want to adjust the exposure for only a few copies. You may need to do this certain pages you are copying , which are very light or very dark. For example, if you want to copy a few pages which are extremely dark, you will want to use the MANUAL exposure mode to make them lighter. Press the EXPOSURE key for only a second to change from AUTO NORMAL ("A" ) to MANUAL LIGHT (also "A") and again to change to MANUAL LIGHT ("L"). If you press the key again, you will select AUTO NORMAL ("D"). Finally, if you press it once again, the photocopier will return to the AUTO NORMAL setting.
