like to know something about you, so I'm going to ask you some questions about
yourselves. (Begin with Candidate A, then move on to Candidate B) Now... (Say
the name of the Candidate A and ask questions.)
【正确答案】A: Can you tell me something about your work or your studies?
A: I'm a college student majoring in computer science. I'm really fond of working with computers. Of all the subjects I like English best. It's a tough subject, but I enjoy learning it. Last summer I gave English classes to a high school student who is going to take part in College Entrance Exam this year. For the first time I felt like a teacher with enough patience and a strong sense of responsibility. And I enjoyed the pleasure of being challenged. There is an old Chinese proverb that the best teachers are also learners.
E: What kinds of sports are you intersted in?
A: I love to watch football games. They are really exciting. I also play football with my friends at weekends. There is great fun and enjoyment.
E: Is there anywhere you would particulary like to visit?
A: I would particularly like to visit New York. It is the largest city in the U. S. and a very cosmopolitan city where you can find people from.
E: Thank you. Now, Candidate B, what is it like to live in Beijing?
B: I like living in the city because it offers many good things in life: big stores, restaurants, theatres, cinemas, galleries, ect. What's more, services are always better. Moreover, there are more chances of employment.
E: Can you tell us something about your work?
B: I'm working for ABC International Company as an accountant. I like my job very much because it is quite challenging and I can apply both my specialized knowledge and English to my work. I think I'm quite qualified for my job because I have a Master's degree and have managed to be a CPA.
E: How important is English for your future plans?
B: In today's competitive market, having a good command of English has many advantages. Above all, you can communicate on a personal level with foreign customers with ease. Fewer misunderstandings occur and so everybody is much happier. I often ask myself, who can afford just to "get by" in English?
