The construction of the surgery center will start in September and is estimated to last a year and half. A new parking lot will also be completed within the same timeframe. The Margaret Labonte Memorial Hospital was established 30 years ago and now has about 600 employees. It has been providing medical care to the residents of Akron and surrounding communities of Cuyahoga Falls, Tallmadge, Portage Lakes, and Hudson. The hospital is also affiliated with the Ohio Health Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving free medical health care to low-income families several times a year.
