One of the favorite baseball players in the US during the 1930"s was Leo Frangio. He was born and raised in New York City. As a boy he was often in trouble with the teachers. He and his friends used to stay away from school to play baseball. He left high school before graduation and began to make a living by playing baseball. Soon he became the best baseball player in the country. He was a hero to people everywhere. In 1937 his team decided to trade him to another team. As he didn"t want to play for any other team, he retired.
After leaving baseball he had several different jobs. First he had a job in the public relation department of a sporting goods company. He didn"t enjoy the work and left the company after one year.
