填空题
Today I'd like to talk about how to become a {{U}}(1)
{{/U}}. Usually you have to start at the beginning. That is, you have to
begin {{U}}(2) {{/U}} of some sort on a local newspaper, a {{U}}(3)
{{/U}}, maybe on a small magazine -- work {{U}}(4) {{/U}}. Now there
aren't that many organizations which have large numbers of foreign
correspondents so you also have to {{U}}(5) {{/U}} with that aim
{{U}}(6) {{/U}}. Another way of doing it is to work abroad, and work as
{{U}}(7) {{/U}}. That's somebody who sells stories, and gets paid
{{U}}(8) {{/U}}, to newspapers and magazines and so on. And hoping
to {{U}}(9) {{/U}} that way, and eventually to be offered a
{{U}}(10) {{/U}}.
I don't really know {{U}}(11)
{{/U}} are needed, but obviously a degree in modern languages or
{{U}}(12) {{/U}} would be very useful. But, a degree in itself probably
wouldn't {{U}}(13) {{/U}}. It wouldn't be enough to get you job. It
wouldn't {{U}}(14) {{/U}} to make an editor decide to {{U}}(15)
{{/U}}. So it's difficult to define the {{U}}(16) {{/U}}.
You're going to need {{U}}(17) {{/U}} and the ability to assimilate
information {{U}}(18) {{/U}} and then produce stories which
{{U}}(19) {{/U}} of the newspaper or radio or television station you
{{U}}(20) {{/U}}.
