I am writing this letter to call your attention to the negative effect of some television programs today. As you know, at present children"s programs are often full of violence and advertisements of poor quality instead of the ones in science and education. I am really worried because this is not all.
For instance, nowadays it is fashionable that many children are asked to play the roles of advertisements. This is bad in that after watching the advertisements the children tend to blindly compare themselves with others. Another bad thing is that the poems and proverbs, the cream of the Chinese culture, are often changed on purpose.
In my opinion, all these do harm to the sound growth of our children. I don"t think we should go on like this. Therefore, I sincerely hope you can take some measures to move in the right direction.
