Some have suggested that Cro-Magnon men brought with them some disease to which they themselves were resistant and the Neanderthals were not. In any case, soon after the appearance of Cro-Magnon man, there were no other hominids in Europe, and within the course of 10000 to 20000 years, this new variety of primate had spread the face of the planet.
