Crops will be engineered to be more resistant to pests and to use their nutrients more efficiently. In doing so, farmers can reduce the need for pesticides and fertilizers, all of which are major causes of water pollution. Cars, computers, plastics and paper will, become more biodegradable or recyclable. Cars will be built by modular parts that can be removed and reused.
