With the rapid growth of people' s purchasing power brought a bout by the great economic take-off in China, the production of TV sets in the factory increased significantly. And the rate between color TV sets and black and white ones changed greatly as well.
The total output soared by over 260 percent from 45,000 in 1992 to 120,000 in 1999. This increase is owing to the big rise in the production of color TV sets. Only 5,000 color TV sets were produced in 1992. By the end of 1999, the number had been raised to 100,000 sets l a 20 -fold increase in seven years. Mean while, the output of black and white TV sets declined gradually from 40,000 sets in 1999 to 20,000 in 1996 and then remained stable.
Seven years are but a blink of the eye in the long history of mankind, but during this short period, the Chinese people have witnessed unbelievable changes in their life.
