【正确答案】[范文] Income Sources of American and Chinese Students
As is indicated in the above pie chart, there is a significant difference in income sources between American and Chinese university students. In China, students get 80% of their tuition and living expenses from their parents while in America, only 35% of students depend on their parents for these expenses. In addition, Chinese students earn 10% of their money from part-time jobs and 10% from scholarship while income from these two resources for American students takes up 50% and 15% respectively of their total income.
In my opinion, two factors probably account for this difference. First, the difference primarily stems from different cultural and family value systems. American people attach importance to individualism and financial independence. However, Chinese parents put academic achievement first. In addition, it is relatively easy for students to find part-time jobs in America. In China, such opportunities are rather rare. And American universities have much higher budget from the government and private donors to provide scholarship for students in need.
From my perspective, Chinese students should enhance their awareness of independence. Only in this way can they be mature sooner.
