Part-time Job

Student: Hi, Miss Jenkins.
Manager: Hi, Robert. How are you today?
Student: Well, I"m fine. But I really need to talk with you about my work schedule. I have a problem with the time you have scheduled.
Massager: Well, why don"t you tell me the problem? You know, the schedule for this week has been posted for several days. Is this the week you have a problem?
Student: Yes, it is. You know, I"m a part-time student and I only have classes on Monday evening and Tuesday during the day.
Manager: Sure. We went over that two weeks ago after you had registered for classes. So what is the problem?
Student: Well, I"m scheduled for Wednesday evening and most of the day on Friday, and then again on Saturday.
Manager: Yes, that"s right. Is there one of the days that isn"t going to work out for you this week? You know, you asked that we schedule you more because you were a part-time student. But if that is a problem, I would like to know now...
Student: It is this week and maybe next week but probably not after that. Do you think you could change my hours?
Manager: Well, first tell me which day doesn"t work for you. Or perhaps it is more than one day?
Student: Actually, I don"t think I can work any day this week.
Manager: Are you signing up for more classes? If that is the case, we can certainly work around that because I do have some students who have told me they want to work more hours. Is that your situation?
Student: Well, no. Not really.
Manager: You know, Robert, I am really trying to find out what you are needing in the way of a schedule change, but you don"t seem to want to tell me.
Student: Oh, it"s not that. I guess I am afraid you won"t let me make the changes in my schedule that I want to.
Manager: Okay... tell me and let"s go from there.
Student: Okay. I would like to be gone all this week and not work at all. I have class tonight and tomorrow but... I would like to leave after my last class to go skiing and that"s why I would like you to change my schedule.
Manager: I realize we"ve had our first big snow of winter. And I understand you are a person who loves to ski...
Student: Do you think it might be possible?
Manager: Well, usually I like earlier notice to make changes. And, I"m not sure if I can find someone on such short notice. But I will make some calls to students who want more hours. In the future I would like earlier notice but I will see what I can do. Come back in after your class tomorrow and see if I have found someone to "sub" for you.
Student: Oh, thanks so much. I sure hope you can and I will check back tomorrow about noon.

Do you think you could change my hours?
Why does the student hesitate to tell the manager what he wants?
I am afraid you won"t let me make the changes in my schedule that I want to. 即学生害怕经理不答应他改变工作安排的请求。
单选题 Listen again to part of the conversation. Then answer the question.
Why does the manager say this:
【正确答案】 A

I am really trying to find out what you are needing...

Why does the manager say this:
【正确答案】 C

Manager: You know, you asked that we schedule you more because you were a part-time student.
But if that is a problem, I would like to know now...
Why does the manager say this:
I would like m know now...

Listen again to part of the conversation. Then answer the question.
What can be inferred about the student?
