The Gap between City and Countryside

As the pace of economic development accelerates, the gap between the city and the countryside becomes more and more overt. It is a problem provoking much public concern in China nowadays. I think there are three major reasons for this.
Firstly, the issue is the result of government's partial investment. In China, the government puts large amounts of money into the coastal areas and cities, causing the insufficiency of investment in the rural areas. The lack of investment obstructs the productivity and economic development. As a result, it widens the gap between the city and the countryside.
Secondly, the low education level in the rural areas contributes partly to the gap between the living levels. Education is the prime force of productivity. The low-level education in the rural areas has seriously hindered their ability to develop the economy and improve the technology.
Finally, migrant workers to the cities from the countryside have made the situation even worse. To seek working opportunities, many people abandon the fertile lands, leaving them uncultivated. If the situation continues, it will lead to serious imbalance of economic and regional development.
In conclusion, the gap between the city and the countryside are widening. It's high time that the government took measures to deal with it, or else the development of the society will be hindered.
