Speaking Activities
Step 1: Video Playing (15 minutes)
Show students two kinds of film clips, one comedy and the other tragedy. Ask students to pay special attention to the plot and characters in the film.
Step 2: Group Discussion (10 minutes)
Have students talk about the one that is more preferred with the adequate reasons. Invite some students to expound their viewpoints.
Step 3: Role Play (15 minutes)
Ask students to work in pairs to make up a dialogue about inviting friends to see the movie together. The conversation may contain some basic information such as the name of the movie, the place and the time. After full preparation is made, randomly select several students that belong to different groups to perform the dialogue in front of the whole class.
Step 4: Evaluation (5 minutes)
Make an evaluation of students, performances, invite the whole class to vote for the best one, and give some rewards to the best performers.
