But nowadays, there’s no denying that the aging population is growing drastically among many countries, including China. I think that the government should provide more services for the elderly, and thus should be the major contributor to the responsibility. For one thing, the government can be able to effectively allocate public resources, such as pension, medical care, health insurance, to help the elderly have a decent and stable retirement life. For another, government is also capable of building elderly-friendly infrastructure, such as large-scale care houses and entertainment centers. So I do think that the government can and should do more for the senior.
