Language is a system of arbitrary, vocal symbols used for human communication. Language is a tool for human communication. Any sound, the “gestures” or even marks from animals do not fall into the category of language, although sometimes we think they are speaking their own “language”. There is no language that is more advanced than another on the whole. However, some languages will be prominent because of the using frequencies, users of a certain language, language policies, etc. For example, in China, the dialects for different regions make the communications difficult,so the government made the language policy to make the mandarin as the commonly used language. Internationally, the English is the most broadly used language so we choose English as one of the important official languages.
