Should Operating Vehicles Be Limited?

With the fast development of human society and the improvement of life standard,private car has become more and more common in our country, especially in cities. It brings some benefit for us but also causes more problems at the same time. Therefore some hold that the number of operating vehicles should be limited regularly. I can‟t agreeit any more. There are  several strong reasons supporting this line of action.

In the first place, the environment would be heavily polluted if the number of private cars rises too quickly. As proved by previous testing, moving half of the automobiles off the road every day did effectively contribute to air quality control. The fewer cars are running, the less pollution will be produced by exhaust gas. Secondly, too many private cars will cause traffic jams instead of bringing convenience. Especially in rush hours, all kinds of operating vehicles would flood into every main corner of urban, blocks roads and chokes cities. Moreover, the increase of traffic accidents that are resulted from cars has heavily threatened the safety of people‟s life.

In conclusion, if the number of cars can be limited according to the last digit on the number plate, people will have no choice but to cycle or use public transport, which can be beneficial to both themselves and environment, then why not?
