EXAMINER: Let's move onto Part 2. I'm going to give you a topic and I'd like you to talk about it for one to two minutes. Before you talk, you have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes if you wish. Do you understand?
CANDIDATE: Yes.
EXAMINER: OK, here's your paper. And you have a paper and pencil. I'd like you to describe an experience in which a piece of equipment or other device you used broke.
EXAMINER: Alright. Remember you have one to two minutes for this, so don't worry if I stop you. I will tell you when your time is up. Can you start speaking now please?
CANDIDATE: OK, well, I'd like to tell you about a time when my mini disc player broke. I don't know if you know, but a mini disc player is a very small piece of equipment which pre-dates mp3 players so the disc is smaller than a CD but it's still fairly big but can contain about the same amount of information. So, anyway, I was at a party and just sitting around having drinks, as one does ... when I was jumping around on the trampoline, and then a friend of mine got on the trampoline and jumped off it and landed on my mini disc player and smashed it to bits. So I was extremely angry, of course, because I used this to listen to all my music so I no longer had a way to listen to my tunes. I tried to make him pay for it but he refused to, saying it was my fault that I had left my ipod here, sorry my mini disc there, and not his that he had jumped from the trampoline onto it. Many months went by, I tried to call him and ask him to pay but he simply wouldn't. So in the end, I, well, I better not say exactly what happened but basically I decided to buy an ipod. This was, in fact, a blessing in disguise because the ipod was much more useful than my mini disc player. I could have 100s, in fact 1,000s of tunes on it and it's much easier to download information from.

CANDIDATE: I'd like to think that I don't. I certainly don't try to but some people have said that I can be clumsy at times.
