M: Well, have you had time to read the information about these eight products?
W: Yes.
M: Okay. I suggest that we consider the market first. Do any of these products have any chance of success in China?
W: Well, the price seems high for all the products.
M: I agree. However, I think that some of these products would appeal to certain sections of the community.
W: If they were marketed properly.
M: Of course, that goes without saying!
W: Well, which products did you have in mind?
M: Er... well, at first I thought that the mobile phone—the Nokia—looks attractive, and would be seen as something of a status symbol for senior business executives.
W: Status symbol? Who wants a status symbol!
M: 1 think we all know that there are people like that around these days.
W: Yes, but look at the competition! China produces so many different kinds of mobile phones already. And there are network problems for foreign mobile phones.
M: Exactly! So I felt that the mobile phone might be a mistake. So my first choice would be the camera.
W: Don''t you think that the camera seems expensive, too?
M: Well, it certainly isn''t cheap, but I think that there are lots of small businesses around that would find it very useful.
W: That may be true, but we would need to verify that with some market research.
M: That''s a good point.
