It's easy to see how to help some people, but what about those whose needs are not so clear? Thisstory happened not long ago, but it is a lesson that has stayed with me and helped me ever since.
It was Thanksgiving and I was volunteering with my parents at a shelter for the poor. We served hotfood to whoever came in. Then, a man came in, who looked anything but poor. He was well dressed.I wondered what he was doing there and my jaw dropped in amazement when he joined the queue forfood. What was this man doing? Now, whenever I meet someone, I will remember my mother's lesson and try to send kindness tohim according to his needs, no matter how he looks. Needs aren't always seen. But kindness alwaysmakes a difference.
