It is indisputable that China should temporarily slow down its development pace. China is like a person whose heartbeat reaches 180 per minute after a strenuous exercise but this cannot last for a long time. Over the past 30 years, China has developed with a strong momentum, but it is difficult to calm down and introspect from the beginning on the accumulation of a lot of development problems, such as environmental pollution, irreversible ecological deterioration, the huge gap between rich and poor and so on. As economy develops, we will be more aware of one thing that although the development is of overriding importance, we can't only rely on development to solve some problems and the solutions lie in other respects. We have to jump out of inertia thinking and calm down to think about solutions. This is the best way to better development. The suggestion that we should keep GDP growth rate at 7% is in the right time, of which the new concept of development will inevitably become a challenge of traditional officials. It is time that the governance ability of officials should be put into comprehensive tests.
