Bicycle Sharing
In 2016, OFO brought the “sharing economy” into the public view through “bicycle sharing”. In 2017, the word “sharing” was named as one of “the top ten buzzwords of Chinese media in 2017”. The advantages of bicycle sharing can be analyzed in three ways. First of all, it solves the problem of “last kilometer” of urban public transport, facilitating people’s travel, especially short one. When going to work at rush hour or hanging out, people no longer need to push their way through crowded buses or cram onto subways. Secondly, the safety mechanism and preventive measures are incomplete, with traffic accidents occurring frequently. On March 26, 2017, an 11-year-old boy from Shanghai accidentally collided with a bus and was caught in the bottom of the car while riding a shared bicycle, who died after being rescued. Another problem that we should pay attention to is that most of the broken bicycles have been neglected and left idle in the sidewalks, motorways, lawns and hard-to-find corners, occupying road resources and seriously affecting the city’s appearance.
