How I Overcome My Difficulty in Learning English

Frankly speaking, there must exist a great number of difficulties in the long process of English learning. I am not an exception to those problems. However, it does not mean that I am afraid of learning English or I don't like English. Now, I want to tell you how I overcome my difficulties in English.

The spelling and meaning of words can be said to be the first difficulty I met as a beginner. Memorizing new words is always a frustrating process for me. But, I never give it up. I recite the new words every morning and review them every night before going to bed. I also put those new words into actual practice which can help me memorize them more deeply. Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I found out my own way to deal with it. I have read a lot of grammar books. I often ask my teachers and classmates for help when I cannot understand the grammar.

And I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English which helps me have a better understanding of English thinking patterns. On top of this, the oral English is also a big challenge for me while it is of great importance in learning English. Therefore, I listen to native English radio broadcasting for half an hour every morning. Watching English movies and TV series without Chinese subtitles is of great help for listening and pronunciation.

As we all know, Rome was not built in one day. Only through daily perseverance can we master a foreign language. All these difficulties can be overcome as long as you maintain enough interest and confidence.
