无Working in the West
Choosing the place to work can be difficult decision for a student who currently has no idea about future career. Most students would like to migrate to cities like Beijing or Shanghai since they can enjoy more advantages brought by fine infrastructural constructions; However, for students who seek challenges and opportunities, moving westward is also an option worth consideration.
The major reason for this is that people can enjoy benefits brought by policy supports. Being a developing country whose economic development can be found imbalance in vast regions, China has always been taking measures to aid comparatively impoverished areas. This can provide countless opportunities for graduates. For example, the government is providing considerable financial supports for those who would like to teach in western China for several years. Besides, working in those areas can be fruitful for lots of schools, government sectors and companies prefer to recruit teachers with this kind of experience. Western China is underdeveloped indeed, but this unfavorable condition also means that striving in that area is rather meaningful and memorable.
Besides, for those who spend most of their life living and studying in urban areas, working in a place full of possibilities and challenges can be a brand new experience, with which their life can be greatly enriched. A place less developed is also a place where people can seek more possibilities to fulfill their ambitions and enterprises. Since western China is less developed, people there have more requirements waiting to be met, which means people can seek more business opportunities there.
Another reason is that competitions in major cities are becoming increasingly severe. Not long after leaving their schools, thousands of graduates find themselves in an embarrassing position for it is difficult or nearly impossible for find a desirable job. This can be blamed to the extremely large population of large cities. As people pursue better living condition, numerous citizens gather in a large city, sharing limited space, resources and jobs together, making it harder to live there. Life is more difficult when millions of residents are living together. For young adults who can hardly shoulder heavy burdens brought by urban life, moving to a place with lower commodity prices and more opportunities may be a wiser choice.
For those who find it stressful and difficult to live in coastal areas, Western China might just be an answer. Working in the west is challenging, but it can be fruitful and full of possibilities as well.
