Away from AIDS
Currently，the increasingly serious AIDS problem has become a global concern．AIDS endangers people's physical and mental health，and thus
poses tremendous threat to the world．It is reported that AIDS has spared about 25 million people's lives so far．
It is high time we realized the gravity of the problem． Much has been done to fight against AIDS．For instance，December 1st is marked as the World AIDS Day with a red ribbon as its symbol
with a view to raising people's awareness．But more attention and efforts are needed．To start with，governments and healthcare organizations should invest more in AIDS research so that effective cures can be discovered to
relieve patients from their anguish and to prolong their lives．Secondly，people's fear of AIDS
arises primarily
from the lack of knowledge about the disease．Some even fear that AIDS might be spread by taking meals at the same table with AIDS patients or catching their cough or sneeze．Definitely not．People get infected with HIV，the virus that causes AIDS，mainly through blood transfusion，unprotected sexual contact， mother—to-child transmission and sharing needles with HIV carriers．Therefore the AIDS knowledge should be spread in whole society to enhance education．Seminars，TV features，picture exhibitions and some activities with AIDS patients involved are good options．What's more，each individual is obliged to do something for the fight against AIDS．Instead of keeping far away from AIDS patients， we should support them with our warmth and sympathy．The disease has caused great suffering physically．People's prejudice will do more harm to them mentally．Isolation from the society might drive them into despair and as a result lose hope for life．
I firmly believe that the joint efforts from all the people do matter in the battle against the AIDS，and the world will become more beautiful as long as everyone devotes a little love．
