【答案解析】[解析] 14-17
The alarm goes off at 6:15. It's time to get my son ready for school, make my daughter' s breakfast and prepare my wife' s lunch for her to bring. By 7:00 A. M. my wife steps into the car and drives off to work as I am busy doing some cleaning.
I have been a house husband for almost four years. It' s not something I planned, and it' s not something I' ve always been proud of.
Four years ago I was the music director and evening announcer at a radio station in south-central Illinois, and my wife, Cheryl, had a good job in sales with a company in St. Louis. She worked days and I worked nights. A baby-sitter cared for our eight-year-old son, Joseph and our infant daughter, Jenava. During the week we liked passing ships, pausing to kiss each other hello or good-bye. But we both liked our jobs enough to overlook the difficulties.
Then our baby-sitter had to quit. Cheryl and I talked about what to do. We decided that one of us would have to stay home with the kids. When we considered our salaries, the answer became clear. Cheryl' s job brought in more than mine did. We could live on her income, but not on mine. From then on I became a house husband.
