“The spirit of women volleyball team” has become a buzzword again since Chinese Women Volleyball Team won the championship in the Rio Olympic Games. Generally, it is believed that the spirit of women volleyball is to fight, persist and never to give up. It seems that solely the spirit can ensure success in any sports event. However, though spirit counts, its influence is subordinate to that of material. As the coach of Chinese Women Volleyball Team Lang Ping once said, “Don’t talk about the spirit of women volleyball team every time our team wins in a competition. Our devoted efforts are much more important. The spirit of women volleyball team remains, but it can’t ensure success without the complement of professional skills.”
