【正确答案】E: Candidate A, Where are you from?
A: I'm from Qinhuangdao city, Hebei Province. But I was born in Baoding, a city between Beijing and Shijiazhuang, I was assigned there when I graduated from college in 2001.
E: What does you hometown like, compared with Beijing?
A: Compared with Beijing, my hometown is much smaller in size, and there are not so broad streets as those in Beijing. But there are not so many people in the city, and the streets are not so much noisy and crowded. As to the climate in summer, my hometown is quite cool and comfortable. Once I was told that the temperature in Beijing can rise up to more than 40 degrees centigrade in summer. How terrible it is! That's why we have such a great number of visitors from Beijing in summer. And the price here is much higher than that in my hometown. But in Beijing, the center of economy, politics and culture, people here have more opportunities to make more money than we do in my hometown.
E: What do you do now?
A: I'm a sales manager in a company that sells office equipment. I'm in charge of overseeing sales operations in Eastern China, including Shanghai. There are twenty people under me. Most of them work hard, and I'm quite satisfied with our business.
E: Is your job something you have always wanted to do?
A: Yes, I enjoy my job very much. When I was in middle school, I was determined to do business. So I majored in marketing at college. I like traveling, meeting people, and making friends. Of course, as a sales manager, I have some trouble or pressure now and then, but through pains taking effort I can always overcome them successfully, from which I always learn something new.
E: Thank you, Now, Candidate B.
E: Can you tell us something about your hometown?
B: Yes. I'm from Beijing, and I like the city very much because there are a lot of chances for career development. What's more, transportation is very convenient and cheap.
E: What's the weather like there?
B: I'm sorry to say that the weather there is not very satisfying. You know, It's very hot in summer, but very cold and dry in winter. And there are too much wind in spring and Autumn.
E: Are you a student or have you got a job?
B: I'm still a university student.
E: What are your favourite subject at school?
B: My favourite subject is English. But I think English is a means for communication. One must have other professional skills in order to earn one's living. That's why I'm studying International Marketing now in university.
E: What type of work are you hoping to do in the future?
B: I hope I can work as a sales manager. It's challenging that I can learn lot from this kind of job.
