The reading skill like skimming, scanning and detailed reading were used in the lesson. When one have a specific question to answer or information to collect, one needs to be able to skim a page quickly to find the section by scanning a text. In the lesson, students read the passage for the first time to answer two questions for three minutes, and they would use scanning the keywords. And in the second reading, students read the passage in detail for eight minutes to find the detailed information and deep thinking about two questions.
