The whole story is written in the first person narrative, from a heroine"s point of view of narration. Wuthering Heights has a cyclical and zigzag time-line, going from the present to the past, and then back to the present again. The present is in the first person narrative, who figures in no way in the actual story. The actual story is the past itself, narrated in the third person, again not directly by the main people concerned.
