How to Solve the Housing Problem in Big Cities?

With the rapid development of modern industries and economy, more and more people rushing into the big cities for personal development. So, the housing problems in the big cities are becoming more and more serious. 

In my opinion, there are several ways to solve this problem. First of all, we can expend the cities, and build more apartments in the country. The fresh air and clean water will attract young people to live there. With many people leaving the city, more space will be available for those remaining. We can find a lot of successful examples in other countries that solve the housing problem by building such apartments. In the meantime, I’m against the opinion of utilizing the underground space to tackle the problem. The air there will be very stuffy. And the cost of building underground houses will be tremendous. I can hardly imagine that people will be willing to live under the ground without the sky and the sun, which will inevitably lead to an uncomfortable life. 

What’ more, the housing price should be regulated to be lower than the big cities. At this time, it is for the local government played its role. The government should control the price of the house. If the house is too expensive, many people may not be able to afford a house on their own. The government should build some cheap apartment for the poor, the young people. Last but not least, we should have more skyscapes. Since the land is limited, we need more space to support people to have a good living condition. Besides, the public should be aware of their own responsibility to make contributions to the city. For example, for those who are abundant in wealth, they should not purchase redundant houses to leave them unused, resulting in the intense situation of shortage of available houses and the rising housing price. If everyone bears such a moral concept in mind, things will turn out to be a little bit different. 

In fact, the housing problem is very complicated. That is because it involves many other factors such as public house system, transportations, city planning, government financing, etc. Perhaps people can hardly rely on only one way to solve the problem completely. A good living condition is the key to social stability. If our country has managed to build enough houses, the pressure can be relieved to some degree and our people can live a better environment.
