Why Do People Like to Try Their Luck on Lotteries?

Nowadays, many people spend a large amount of money on buying lotteries in order to increase the possibility of winning the prize. I think people try their luck on lotteries for several reasons.

Firstly, they want to win a large sum of money with just a little effort. They cherish the hope of getting rich overnight. Secondly, the society is getting more commercialized and materialistic thanbefore. Many people are thinking of some shortcuts to get rich. Finally, the popularity of buyinglotteries is partly due to the income gap between the rich and the poor. This has stimulated many people to try their luck on lotteries.

As far as I am concerned, buying lotteries is like gambling. You do not know the probability of winning back your money but you cannot resist the temptation to have a try. However, few can succeed in this business. The government should improve the social welfare system and encourage people to earn their living by work.
