Some of them do so because they like the name of an MA student, and still there are some who really like academy and are going to devote themselves to it. Different intentions would lead to different results. In my opinion, only if you are reading for an MA master on purpose of improving yourself can you make your original choice worthy.
To begin with, for those students who just want to gain the name of MA student, they would learn nothing during the two or three years. It's a waste of time and education resources. Thus we don't encourage this kind of motivation unless they already have a job and their promotions need a certificate of MA degree. Secondly, whether it works for those students who read for an MA degree because they can't find a suitable job at the present time depends on if they can make good use of their time. The reason that they couldn't find a suitable is mostly their absence of working ability or essential techniques. They failed to gain them in their BA degree. If they keep on wasting their time in MA degree in doing things irrelevant to their future career, it is not strange if they still unable to find suitable job after graduation. On the contrary, if they spare no effort to improve themselves, they would get a satisfying result at last. Lastly, those students who really like academy and are going to devote themselves to it would absolutely enjoy their studying in MA degree. Nevertheless, their competence would gain an impressing step due to the scientific environment, favorable teaching resources as well as their own efforts. Inevitably, a promising future is waiting for them.
