Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Warming-up
1. Greetings.
2. Let students enjoy a song named Five Little Monkeys and ask them what kind of job they can hear. The song goes like this:
Five little monkeys jumped on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head,
So Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
No more monkeys jump on the bed!
Four little monkeys jumped on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head,
So Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
No more monkeys jump on the bed!
Ask students to answer the question. Then tell them that today they will learn another job about teacher and lead in the topic.
Step 2: Pre-listening
Ask students to observe the picture of this passage and introduce the teachers and present the sentence structure “Who is your...teacher?” “What’s he/she like?” “He/She is ...”
Then ask students a question, “Can you have a prediction about what the passage mainly about according to the picture on your book?” Then ask students to come to the passage to check whether their predictions are right or not.
Step 3: While-listening
1. Extensive listening
Read the passage for students and ask them to find how many people are there in the listening material.
Then invite one student to answer the question.
2. Intensive listening
Play the tape and ask students to answer two questions:
Q1: Who is Chen's math teacher?
Q2: What is he like?
Ask two students to answer these questions, then write these two questions and answers on the blackboard.
Step 4: Post-listening
Ask students to have a discussion about who is their favorite teacher and what is he(she) like in group of four. 5 minutes are given for the discussion. Then through a game Hot Potato to invite some groups to share and explain.
Step 5: Summary and Homework
Summary: invite a student to be a little teacher and summarize today’s lesson. Ask students to treat every subject seriously.
Homework: ask students to do a survey about their best friend’s teachers and do a report next class..

答辩题目一:How do you design a wonderful pre-listening part?(怎样设计一个完美的听前环节?)
Pre-listening is a very important part in the design of the whole teaching process, which can lay a good foundation for the later listening. In this part, the teacher can clear some new words to help students make good preparation before listening. The method of prediction can be used to let students guess what they are talking about according to the title or the pictures, which can stimulate students' thirst for knowledge.
听前环节在整个教学环节的设计中是比较重要的,它能够为后来的听中环节奠定良好的基础,在这个部分,能够帮助学生做好听前的准备。一方面,可以使用扫障的方法,帮助学生清理一些生字词的障碍,方便后续听力顺利开展;另一方面,可以使用预测的方法,让学生根据题目或者插图去猜测文章的大致内容,让学生带着疑问进入到文章中,能够激发学生的求知欲。
答辩题题目二:How are you going to keep your lessons interesting?(怎样让你的课堂生动有趣?)
Primary school students is not mature enough, and they have low abstract thinking ability. Therefore, concrete, colorful, interesting teaching aids should be adopted such as songs, pictures,videos, physical objects, body movements and so on to arouse their interest, attract students' attention, as we ll as make the classroom lively and interesting. For example, I introduced a song named Five Little Monkeys to arouse students’ interest in warming-up step. What’s more, teacher can intoduce some interesting games to stimulate students’ desire of learning. It is a good example to adopt Hot Potato in my class. In addition, teacher can design many communicative activities to let students learn how to use target language in communication. Such as pair work and group work.
小学生的心理年龄还不够成熟,抽象思维能力比较弱因此老师需要使用具象,有趣,多彩的教学辅助比如歌曲,图片,视频,实物,肢体动作等方式来吸引学生注意力,激发学习兴趣,活跃课堂气氛,比如在warming-up 环节引用的歌曲。这样不仅能够吸引学生的注意力,而且也能够让课堂变得生动有趣。除此之外,还可以引用一些游戏,来调动学生学习的积极性,比如本节课采用的Hot Potato的游戏。另外,还可以多设计一些交流性活动,比如同桌合作、小组合作等,使学生在交流中学会使用语言。
