Traffic is the basis of a city's development. The smooth traffic can ensure the normal operation of thecity. However, with the development of society and economy, the number of the motor vehicles in the city is constantly increasing. The traffic problems appear naturally and have become a major problem in the modern city.

The main traffic problems in the city are traffic jams and the pollution it has caused to the environment. With the increasing number of cars,traffic jams are bound to happen.  Heavy transportation pressure in large cities may bring much inconvenience to people. What's more,exhausted gas has increased the burden of environment and caused carbon emission.

Therefore, effective measures should be taken.Public transportation such as buses and subways should be encouraged and promoted so that we can have a smooth transportation.
