Some people say you should be content with what you have and accept who you are. But it is possible that too much self-acceptance can turn into self-satisfied lack of ambition. People should always strive to improve themselves and to have more in their lives--friends, things, opportunities. After all, where would we be if great people, both in history and in our own time, did not try to have more and to improve themselves?

无People need to strive for a better life. A life will be meaningless if no one strives to prove that it is worth leading his life. History shows that a man who is always not satisfied with what he possessed often tends to be an influential man. No one in this world can acquire perfection. However, the primary difference between the winners and the losers is just the way of perceiving their advantages as well as their disadvantages. The winners see their success as a motivation and their failure as a lesson.
Everything is progressing, so do people. Working harder makes it possible for a person to be brilliant, glorious and influential. Endeavoring can make up for our weakness inborn-poor memory, lower social status, incompetent intelligence, unqualified emotional quotient and so on, and optimize our strengths—resourcefulness, strong will, potential leadership, extraordinary comprehension etc. If politicians had not chosen to develop the social system, the slavery would not have been eradicated. If scientists had not devoted themselves into technological research, the mass would have been living in a dark world without electricity fire even electricity. If Jobs had not utilized his creative ideas to build the Apple Company, there would been no iPhone in the market. Both the community and individual have to strive for better improvement.
Striving actualizes social sustainable development and makes pleasing social environment. Without motion, water will become stagnant; likewise, without progress, a society will be dark, corrupt or even autocratic or monopolistic. Since human came into being, people have kept making progresses every moment. The ancient human discovered fire from friction. The British created the stream engine to lead the industrial revolution. The American found the principle of electricity and magnesium and light up every corner in the world. The examples are infinite. Had it not been for making efforts, the society would not have witnessed valuable things and the world would be not harmonious.
In brief, nothing is stable with no change, only if keeping endeavoring will much higher goals be reached. The more you are striving now, the better you will get in the future. The development of human beings is mainly the development of the society. People should impulse themselves to overcome new obstacles in lieu of allowing themselves to stop and be satisfied. And we should never accept who we are and what we have, instead, we should always strive for a better life.
