There is no doubt that traveling will broaden our outlook, and enrich our life experience. However, when it comes to whether travelling with a tour guide is the best option, different people have different ideas. Those in favor of tour travelling hold that they can benefit a lot from it considering the convenience of the transportation as well as accommodation, and the most important, the guarantee of their safety. However, for the opponents, they say that travelling with a tour deprive them of their personal time so that they can’t follow their own heart and lose a chance to enjoy their journey alone. From my point of view, travelling with a tour guide is not the best way.
The reasons why I think so are not far to seek. First of all, a tour guide will mostly waste time. Actually, as a group member, we all are required to stay together to wait those who are always late for next stop. Besides, personal interest is ignored. Secondly, when travelling in a group, your tour guides may sometimes force you to spend more money on the merchandise which you don’t need for high commission. To illustrate, some Hong Kong tour guides have been reported to compel the visitors to buy the luxury watch or expensive jade in the recent year. According to the news, they even hurt the tourists who refused to buy the recommended things. Not only did this scandal shock the public, but it also led to a negative impact on the tourism market. Therefore, travelling in a group is not the best way for visiting since it may cause uncertain troubles and cost more money than you expect. Lastly, it won’t help us to be “mature” with a tour guide. Taking a tour means we don’t worry everything, such as reserving tickets, hotels, etc. However, living in the 21st century, we need to challenge ourselves to become more confident and independent.
From what I have been discussed above, we can easily draw a conclusion that travelling by a tour guide is not the best way because it won’t meet our requirement and satisfaction.
