The topic of whether students should take at least one course to learn the culture of a foreign country has been heatedly discussed. Some people think it is necessary while others think it is just a waste of time. In my opinion, I prefer that it is necessary for university students to learn the culture of a foreign country.

On the one hand, learning the culture of another country broadens our horizon. Actually, learning is a mission that has no limit in subjects or varieties. The more we learn, the more we will know. For university students, what they need to learn is not only from books but also from practices, and what they need to learn is not only things of their own country but also international events. Only through so, can university graduates bear the responsibility of being an international citizen.

On the other hand, learning the culture of a foreign country may help us a lot in some occasion. Under the trend of globalization, more and more university students choose to be an exchange student for further study or work at foreign companies. If you really want to communicate well with your foreign classmates, colleagues or even bosses, it is essential for you to learn their culture. Otherwise, lots of mistakes would occur.

As a result, from the perspective of learning itself or for future consideration, learning the culture of a foreign country is quite beneficial.
