Television now plays an increasingly important role in people's lives. It can be said that today few people can live without television. Both men and women, old and young, like watching TV.
No one will deny that we have benefited a lot from the invention of television. It keeps us informed about the current events and allows us to follow the latest development in politics and science. Many of the TV programs are both instructive and stimulating. We can almost travel throughout the world and acquaint ourselves with the strangest customs while staying in' our sitting
room. Radio programs might provide similar service, but on television screen everything is much
more vivid.
However, people have different opinions about television and have argued heatedly about its advantages and disadvantages. Some even relate it to the negative influence on our children and the increasing rate of crime. But I feel that, on the whole, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and I don’t think many people will say that television should be abandoned.
