Celebrities are outstanding representatives of all walks of life. They have undergone tribulations of all kinds and won tremendous successes in their fields. So they are highly regarded or even worshipped as idols. They receive welcome from newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations, advertising companies, governmental organizations, etc. Why is that? Because they are influential and have much appeal for the public. They can act as spokesmen and spokeswomen for companies or governmental organizations. They can earn a lot of money for themselves as well as the companies or governmental organizations they work for.
But anything is two-sided. Celebrities lead very stressful lives, no matter how glamorous or powerful they are, they have too little privacy, too much pressure, and no safety. The most personal details of their lives are splashed all over the front pages of newspapers and magazines. Even a celebrity's family is hauled into the spotlight. Photographers hound celebrities at their homes, in restaurants, and on the streets, hoping to get a picture of their idols. When celebrities try to do the things that normal people do, like eating out or attending a football game, they run the risk of being interrupted by thoughtless autograph hounds or mobbed by aggressive fans. Besides, as they have to deal with too many things, their health conditions suffer, some of them even die young.
I have my own understanding of celebrities: they are the products of our society, which has spent very high social costs cultivating them. For some of them to die young is their own misfortune as well as the society's misfortune. Therefore, I hope they can cherish their health conditions by not doing too much work. Considering the fact that a small number of them have earned a large amount of money by advertising for some fake commodities, I hope they can end their bad behaviors, otherwise their fames will be ruined, which is undoubtedly harmful to their career development.
