Traneport Methode
Most people in Haidian District travel by bike, car, bus, or light-rail. The rail line is an easy way for people to reach central Beijing. The bus system is also heavily used, and enables people to reach most parts of Beijing. While the number of bike riders in this district is quite large, most of them use another form of transportation for long-distance travel. As the local economy improves, the number of private cars has been increasing. In particular, sport utility vehicles and other large vehicles appear quite popular nowadays.
Problems
The area has experienced an increase in automobile traffic and pollution in the past few years, and car travel is particularly slow during the rush hour. The best way to deal with these problems might be to add more bus and subway lines, and to increase the number of operating buses and subway cars. This would make these systems more comfortable, and it would be easier for the city government to convince citizens to use these systems, rather than personal cars, whenever possible.
