Student Council Election Speech
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I am the candidate for the student council and thank you for considering me to be a member of our student council.
I was previously involved in high school council which had a profound influence on me, so I decided to run for the student council representative today. First of all, I do believe that I am qualified for this position. I am doing well in school work and I always rank top in examinations. In spite of that, I am good at public speaking as well. Last month, I won public-speaking competition winner. As you know, a member of student council needs to exert a model role for other students so I believe that the more excellent you are in your school performance and the more skills you have, the larger chance you will offer good service for our students.
However, the skills I have mentioned above are far from enough. Since freshman year, I have been a passionate advocate for our students’ union. I am always ready to listen to others and help solve their problems. Furthermore, I will ask them about their concerns and opinions on the school and how it’s being run. Then I will talk to the faculty about the issues we all concern with ranging from school bullying to lunch options in canteen. I take an active role in taking part in all kinds of school activities. I am the member of various students clubs, like chess club, football club and art club. This experience not only sharpens my skills, but also enables me to make a lot of friends. Thanks to all these clubs, I get to understand what the teamwork means and how important it is to cooperate with others in a team.
Our university is a wonderful place to study at, but still it needs some improvement. If elected, I will continue to fight for justice, transparency, and equality for our students with other members in the student council. I will work hard to create a channel of student representation and offer an opportunity for students’ voices to be heard. I care about your interests and your voice. Come and share your ideas and I will make them happen.
