Sarah wanted to get a job to save up money for her future. She did not want to keep asking her parents for money. She was still going to school, so she needed to find a part-time job. She could be a cashier (收银员), a waitress, or a cook. She decided that a cashier job would be most suitable for her. This was a job that seemed simple enough and she could learn. It would also let her communicate with people, which is her favorite thing to do.

Sarah did not have a car, so she wanted to work in a place that was close to her home and school. She walked around the restaurants and stores in her neighborhood and made applications to 10 different places. Her top choice was an ice-cream shop nearby.

Two weeks later, four places gave her calls for an interview. They were the ice-cream shop, a candy shop, a book store, and a coffee shop. They all seemed suitable for her schedule. She was one step closer to her goal.
